Double winners at the Pride of Stratford Awards 2016

Tread the Boards Theatre Company named 'Arts Organisation of the Year' and The Attic Theatre was awarded 'Team of the Year' in this years' Pride of Stratford Awards 2016.

The Pride of Stratford Awards 2016 is a unique awards which features categories for both local business and the community across Stratford upon Avon District.  Litteraly hundreds of businessness entered and from this seventeen winners were chosen.  The prestigious swan trophies were awarded to those winners at the Touch FM Pride of Stratford Awards gala evening at the Holiday Inn Stratford on 5th February.

The 'Arts Organisation of the Year' is an obvious category for the town of Shakespeare’s birthplace. This award recognises the rich and diverse arts scene that exists throughout the town. It's open to all arts organisations, whether profit or non-profit making. Judges looked for an organisation that engaged with the local community, supported local talent and had contributed to the culture of the area.

Sponsored by the The Royal Shakespeare Company thie finalists were: Escape Arts, Shottery Youth Theatre and the winner, Tread the Boards.

The 'Team of the Year' award is where employers nomintade three or more people who either work together usually, or just for a particular project. Judges then looked for teams which had made a significant contribution to the business, showing commitment to team working and mutual support and respect.

Sponsored by Mercedes-Benz of Stratford on Avon, the finalists were: Avonvale Veterinary Team, Sunflowers Pre-School and the winner The Attic Theatre.

Tread the boards Theatre company are over the moon to recieve these awards and are looking forward t another exciting and succesful year ahead.
