The show is written by Tom Basden from Peep Show, Plebs and After Life. He has written many plays including Holes which premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2013.

Directed by Danielle Sanderson this modern piece challenges what is important and who you can trust when you are left on a dessert island.

Daniele Sanderson - Director

Daniele is currently the head of undergraduate studies for acting at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She is therefore delighted when this two aspects of her life combine with the opportunity to direct these newly minted RBC graduates in Holes, which follows a recent open air production of a A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Lightwoods House last month.

James Taheny - Gus

James is a recent graduate of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Prior to Holes, James played Graham Cutter in Speculators by Tony Marchant.

He has a passion for story-driven musicals, as well as being an avid fantasy fan, and has no shame in saying how much he loves Dungeons and Dragons.

Jonathan Houlston - Ian

Jonathan has just finished his final year of training at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

‘Holes’ will be Jonathan’s second time working for Tread the Boards as he played Jean Claude Van Dumb in Beauty and the Beast at the Cidermill theatre last Christmas.

Jonathan has also just finished filming an episode of a popular tv series as a guest lead.

He is very excited to be performing at the Attic Theatre and is eager to bring this dark comedy to life!

Sadie Sumich - Erin

Sadie is a New Zealand born actor who is a 2023 graduate from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

'Holes' with Tread the Boards will be Sadie's professional debut as she plays 16 year-old Erin.

Sadie is passionate about all genres of theatre including Comedy and Shakespeare - Sadie played Juliet in Romeo and Juliet in a final year show of her training.

Sadie is eager to take the stage at the Attic Theatre with Tread the Boards and to show audiences this dark comedy.

Stephanie Riley - Marie

Stephanie is returning to The Attic following it's production of Sense and Sensibility in which she played Marianne.

She has graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire this summer and is very excited to be a part of this fun and ridiculous dark comedy.
