Tread the Board's annual Shakespeare offering has Twelfth Night lovers and Shakespearian newbies laughing all the way from this St Patrick's Day to the next as the setting of modern day Ireland forms the backdrop for one of Shakespeare's most well-loved comedies. Directed by John-Robert Partridge this is entertaining, accessible and cheeky Shakespeare with all the craic of a night out in Dublin's fair city.
Fearing her beloved twin brother drowned, Viola washes up on the shores of Illyria. Nearby, Countess Olivia also mourns a brother and is juggling a perpetually drunk uncle, two unwanted suitors and a pompous butler. When their worlds collide, Viola finds herself tangled in an uproarious knot of love, cross gartered tights, deception and mistaken identity. Will she be able to unravel it all and get the happy ending she so desires?
