'We have no reliable guartee that the afterlife will be any less exasperating than this one have we?'
Charles Condomine, a writer, seeking inspiration for his new book invites Madam Arcarti to lead a seance with his wife and friends the Bradmans but unwittingly she actually brings back from the dead Charles' first wife Elvira. This controversial apparition sets about causing all sorts of issues for Charles as Madam Arcarti becomes more eccentric, the Bradman's more bemused and Ruth more confused.
This is a chuckle and minute in true 1940's affected style and Noel Coward's unparalleled charm.
