John-Robert Partridge

Artistic Director

A graduate from The Birmingham Conservatoire in acting, John co-founded Tread the Boards Theatre Company in 2009 with his now wife, Catherine Prout. John directs many of the acclaimed productions at The Attic Theatre and has won many awards throughout his career.


John also works as a freelance actor, lecturer, voice and audition coach at Birmingham Conservatoire and LAMDA teacher at Kings High School in Warwick.

Jessica Hill

Company Manager

Jess has been working with Tread the Boards since 2010 and now works closely with the creative and marketing teams to help pull our productions together.


Jess is also a key member of the technical team and has designed the lighting and sound for over 50 shows at the Attic Theatre.

Catherine Prout

Senior Producer

Catherine co-founded Tread the Boards alongside her now husband, John-Robert Partridge. Alongside managing the logistics of the company, Catherine is also a key creative in every part of the process – producing, performing, playwriting and designing.


Catherine particularly enjoys adapting novels into new and exciting theatre scripts while always keeping them true to the original authors intent.

Zoe Rolph

Senior Designer

Zoe trained at the Arts University Bournemouth and has been Designer in Residence with Tread the Boards since 2013, creating some beautiful and unique designs in our challenging studio space.

Elliott Wallis

Musical Director

Elliott trained at the Year Out Drama Company and has been working with Tread the Boards Theatre Company since 2016.


He is our resident Musical Director and has also written original songs and compositions for many of our shows.


Elliott also runs SE Theatre Company who are regular performers at The Attic Theatre.

Andy Woolley

Associate Director

Andy is Tread the Boards longest serving Associate Director with a penchant for modern, and often dark, comedy.

No Tread the Boards season is complete without Andy's unique style of direction on a lesser known script.

Dan Arbon

Set designer and builder

Daniel has worked with Tread the Boards Theatre since 2017.


A skilled carpenter, his set designs often include complex designs - his most memorable to date being a collapsing chair for our 2018 production of 'Sweeney Todd'.


Daniel is also a film maker running Middle Realm Productions.

Marc Alden-Taylor

Fight Choreography

Marc has worked with Tread the Boards since 2011 as an actor, comic and fight choreographer.


Marc is a freelance stage combat instructor and fight choreographer working across the country for various theatre and film companies.

Denise Prout

Box Office

Denise has volunteered for TTB since 2009. She looks after the box office and front of house.

PR Manager

Olivia joined the company at the beginning of 2018. She has 7 years experience working across a wide range of creative industries in a variety of roles, but has always felt that theatre is her home.

Andrew Maguire


Andrew is a professional midlands based photographer and videographer., owner of Andrew Maguire Photography.He is our resident photographer for our shows, capturing our actors at their best (and worst!).

Kevin Prout

Front of House

Kevin is well known to Tread the Boards regulars. Kevin volunteers at The Attic Theatre working front of house and box office. He is famous for his pre and post show announcements and catchphrases. He has been working with TTB since 2009

Graphic design

Alistair has been designing for TTB since 2009. He is a freelance designer living in Northumberland.

Instagram Queen

Laura keeps our instagram followers up to date with the latest goings on at the theatre. She is the other half of Andrew Maguire Photography, providing films and trailers for some of our shows.
